The moment I spotted this skirt on ASOS curve I literally had to get it, what is not to love about a floral pleated pastel wonder? I just love the print, it feels like I am walking around with a piece of art on my skirt, the colours are so bright and beautiful it just screams summer. I wore this out on Sunday when I caught up with a friend we wandered down to the river and ate Tapas in the Sunshine. After my friend left I got thinking. I realised it has been a long time since I looked at myself in a negative way, to a point where it affected my life. Summers used to be horrible for me, black was pretty much all that I wore, and they were hot, sticky and uncomfortable. I would only wear shorts or dresses without leggings if I was abroad on holiday it somehow felt safer to bare my legs than in the UK where I have encountered, more than once abuse for daring to bare skin at my size. I've come to realise that life is just too short to stay uncomfortable to please the likes of judgmental bullies. I had no problem walking down the street in a crop top the other day, I am sure people stared but for once I didn't notice them. You owe it to yourself to live the best, most fulfilling life. So wear that bright skirt, those shorts or that crop top this summer you deserve it.
