What I See Project

A few weeks ago I was contacted to be involved in a project, you know I love my projects! This one stood out to me as quite special. The 'What I See Project' is way to create a platform where women across the world can 'amplify their voices'. It gives women a chance to be heard, to have their say and that I feel is very important. This project allows women to share their inner thoughts, struggles, hardships, and opinions. It goes to provide a voice to women whose other wise wouldn't be heard.

So where do I come into this...? I was asked to head down to a beautiful gallery in London and film a video response to the question 'What do you see when you look in the mirror.' You would think this would be an easy question to answer, but actually it was really hard. What do I see in the mirror? When I was preparing I began to try and make jokes out of my appearance this lead me to list my faults and I thought why am I doing this?! It proved the point that we are sometimes pretty hard on ourselves especially when it comes to appearance. As a plus size women my body can be a constant battle, and through writing this blog I have come to learn to love and appreciate it. So I decided to change what I was going to say, less of a joke, more about a deep thought on how I see myself. Click to watch my response to 'What do you see when you look in the mirror'

When I look in the mirror I see my own self worth...

  3. what an interesting project, I actually came across this just after I'd written a post on my blog which was all about what I see in the mirror, how fortuitous. I was complaining about the very first signs of aging and how unhealthy it is that I obsess over it repeatedly.

What do I see in the mirror?
    A work in progress.
